The majority of rappers are people who wanted to be musicians but weren't talented enough to control their voices and hit pitches to be vocalists, so they decided that they should just talk over a crappy drum track and steal other people's real music so that they can ruin it with their awful voices.
A lot like Karaoke, actually.
